How direct billing works

To ensure a smooth direct billing process, we kindly ask you to keep the following points in mind for your upcoming appointment:

  • Inform us that you would like us to directly bill your insurance company.

We look forward to serving you and thank you for choosing us for your eye care needs.

What if I have extended medical insurance?

Extended medical insurance in British Columbia (BC) may provide coverage for optometry expenses, although this can differ based on the particular insurance plan you hold. Numerous extended medical plans encompass a range of health-related services, which might encompass optometry aspects like eye examinations, prescription eyewear, contact lenses, and related costs.

Should you have any queries concerning rates, insurance-related inquiries, or any other aspects, please feel free to get in touch with us. We are dedicated to addressing your questions and concerns to the best of our ability.

Are BC residents covered for eye care expenses under MSP?

Regular eye checkups are not covered by MSP for individuals between 19 and 64 years old. Changes in vision that require glasses or contact lenses are not considered medically necessary according to MSP criteria.

However, seniors aged 65 or above and children under 18 in BC receive yearly benefits for eye exams through MSP. In case of eye emergencies, partial coverage is available for all BC residents, regardless of age. Please contact our office for more information about co-pay fees.
